Joseph R. Rioff, CFA, Associate, has nine years of industry experience. Prior to
joining Colchester in 2009, he held the same position at de Guardiola Advisors,
an investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions in the asset
management industry. While at de Guardiola, Mr. Rioff worked on numerous
transactions including Guardian Life’s acquisition of a 10% ownership interest
in real estate specialist Kennedy Wilson, Inc. and the successful acquisition of
Kennedy Wilson, Inc. by Prospect Acquisition Corp., a special purpose
acquisition company with $250 million of capital.
Prior to de Guardiola, Mr. Rioff was a Consultant at Brockhouse Cooper
International, a leading institutional investment consultant specializing in
investment manager research, evaluation and selection. During his six years at
Brockhouse Cooper, Mr. Rioff conducted hundreds of due diligence meetings with
investment managers, led investment manager searches for U.S. clients and co-led
business development within the U.S. plan sponsor, endowment and foundation
communities. He also spent a year as a Broker Operations Representative for
mutual fund company The Calvert Group and was a summer intern at Asset
Management Finance, an provider of innovative capital solutions to asset
management firms. Mr. Rioff received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from
Connecticut College in 2000 and a Masters degree in Business Administration from
The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in 2008. |
